The cowboy campfire is where the roots of modern western music may be found. It's the place where stories were told then reformed and recited in poetry. It's where poetry was molded into a lyric and sung to the tune of the popular songs of the day. Then original melodies were composed to fit those lyrics. Today, Western Wordsmiths serves to preserve and promote those classic art forms and the roots of western music: stories, cowboy poetry, western prose and lyrics.
